Proteins…a super important building block in our bodies. Once thought to be of “first importance” over all else, that thinking has since been over-turned. There are a lot of myths about protein, where it should come from and how much to consume.  One major problem with excess protein from animal sources alone can cause is elevated IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) and its clear association with increased cancer risk. So many health challenges result from excess protein consumption…cardiovascular disease being just one more…that it’s worth spending time on in today’s talk!
